Our group feeds will always remain an open forum where neighbors are 100% free to recommend their personal favorites in the comments, and our weekly Thursday business threads will always stay open to all.
This Directory simply exists as your fast, organized shortcut when you want immediate access to a curated Top 3 list of local partners whose state licenses, insurance, and community standing have already been verified.
When you use this guide, we commit to the following:
- Signal Over Noise: We strictly cap our directory at three vetted partners per category. So you never have to dig through endless posts, comments, directories or corporate conglomerates to find someone you can trust.
- Independent Ownership Only: Every business listed here is genuinely independent and physically rooted in or consistently services our community. We strictly ban corporate chains, franchises, and conglomerates. Where available, we prioritize businesses located within our towns. If that’s just not possible, we look a little further to our closest neighbors.
- Vetted Accountability: Our partners are held to a high standard of local reputation and reliability. If a partner fails to respect our neighbors or uphold our quality standards, they lose their spot. Forever.
- Absolute Privacy & Access: This guide is free for our community to use. You will never be forced to create an account, log in, or hand over your personal data just to find a reliable plumber, electrician, or local dinner spot.
Our Commitment to Our Partners
The Local Lighthouse RI is designed to be the most valuable marketing asset a local business can own. In exchange for your partnership and adherence to our community standards, we commit to the following:
- The Scarcity Guarantee: We strictly cap our categories at a maximum of three partners. This is done to prevent fatigue and noise for our neighbors, but it also guarantees that we will never dilute your visibility by a fourth slot in your designated category.
- Annual Inclusion: Your partnership is an annual agreement. 30 days prior to your renewal date, you hold the exclusive first right of refusal for your slot. You will have a 14-day window to secure your renewal before the slot is opened to our waitlist. This requires maintaining an active, uncompromised local reputation. If a partner fails to uphold our community standards or serves our neighbors poorly, their partnership is terminated and the slot is reassigned to the waitlist.
- Equal Visibility: All three partners within a category share equal standing on the platform. We do not sell “priority ranking” or allow competitors to buy their way to the top of your shared category.
- Active Distribution: We do not rely on passive search engine traffic. We commit to actively promoting, linking, and highlighting The Local Lighthouse RI directory within our established East Bay community networks, driving highly targeted, local traffic directly to your profile. Because you’re the top 3. You deserve it and our neighbors deserve you!
